ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
EDAC Mentor/Protege Institute is an initiative of the Entrepreneurial Development & Assistance Center (EDAC) at Morgan State University (MSU). If you are looking for a real competitive edge in today’s ultra tough federal contracting market, then you need to attend the EDAC Mentor Protégé Institute Conference.
Taking time out to attend a conference, can be taxing on your business. However, this ½ day event will give you the competitive edge that you need to successfully win major contracts. The conference will bring together DoD (Department of Defense) and Civilian agencies, Major Federal Contractors, Protégé and potential-Protégé firms to share tips on winning large federal contracts and creating match making opportunities.

The EDAC Mentor/Protégé Institute is a strategic partnership between an HBCU (Morgan State University “MSU”) and a Small Disadvantaged Business (PREEMPT CORP). The mission of the Institute is to:
- Enhance the success rate and results of Small Disadvantaged Businesses (Protégés) by strengthening their ability to compete for defense and other federal contracts as well as commercial contracts;
- Establish MSU as the premier institution to focus solely on providing support for successful Mentor/Protégé programs;
- Foster participation of MSU Students, Faculty, Small Disadvantaged Businesses (SDB) as subcontractors and suppliers for the institute’s training programs including Pre-Mentor Protégé training;
- Provide justification and lobbying support for Federal Agencies and others in support of Mentor/Protégé program funding.

Take the Red, Orange, or Blue line train to the Metro Center
station. Exit on 12th and G Streets. Walk three blocks north to K
Street. The D.C.
Bar is at the corner of 12th and K Streets NW. (There is a Starbucks located near the metro
station exit
at 12th and G for Starbucks lovers)
From 95 North (Northeast
Suburban Maryland
and Baltimore)
Follow 95 South to Exit 19 (Route 50
West/John Hanson Highway). This becomes New York Avenue.
Travel 6 miles on New York Avenue
and then bear right onto Eye
Street for one block. Turn right on 12th Street. Follow
12th Street
one block to K Street.
The D.C. Bar is at the corner of 12th and K Streets NW.
From 95 South (Richmond and Springfield)
Follow 95 North and 395 North. 395 North crosses 14th Street
Bridge into Washington. Stay in right lane and continue
on 395 North. Take 12th Street
exit and follow through tunnel straight ahead seven blocks to K Street.

From Dulles Airport
(Fairfax and Tysons Corner)
Follow signs from terminal to Washington (Dulles Airport Access Road).
Follow
to 66 East. 66 East crosses the Roosevelt
Bridge and feeds onto Constitution Avenue.
From Constitution Avenue
turn left on 12th Street
and follow seven blocks to K
Street. The D.C. Bar is at the corner of 12th and
K Streets NW.
From Old
Town, Alexandria
Follow the George Washington
Parkway (Washington
Street in Old Town)
to the 395 North exit. From 395, staying in the right lane, take 12th
Street exit
and follow through tunnel straight ahead seven blocks to K Street. The
D.C. Bar is at the corner
of 12th and K Streets NW.
From I-270 (Northwest
Suburban Maryland
and
Rockville/Gaithersburg)
Follow 270 in right lane to 495 toward northern Virginia. Take Exit 14,
George Washington Parkway. Follow parkway
to Roosevelt Bridge exit, which feeds onto Constitution Avenue.
From Constitution Avenue
turn left on 12th Street
and follow seven blocks to K
